What to expect

Consultation

The doctor will meet with you and discuss your specific complaint and take thorough notes on your medical history.  Please bring any pertinent information such as recent MRI reports, X-rays, and a list of current medications to the consultation.

Examination

You will be given a thorough orthopedic and neurological exam, that will allow us to diagnose your condition.  X-rays may be taken to highlight and rule out any aggravating factors.  When needed, outside consultation with imaging facilities or lab work may be ordered.  Posture assessment and functional movement screening is part of the examination.

Report of Findings

The doctor will review your exam and X-ray findings with you near the end of the visit.  If he feels chiropractic care will help you, a treatment plan will be given.  Most acute conditions respond in a few weeks, however, it may require regular visits for chronic conditions.

Treatment

Your treatment plan will be given specific to your condition - individualized for you.  This may consist of specific chiropractic adjustments to realign the spine and return you to pain free movement.  Complementing your adjustment, any number of physiotherapeutic modalities, massage techniques, or home care recommendations will be given.  Your first visit usually takes anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 hours.  Subsequent treatment visits usually last less than 30 minutes.

I have been a caddy on the PGA Tour and have also suffered through a bulging disc. Dr. Kelton and his staff have been and continue to be wonderful in helping me recover from injuries and also maintain good health through regular visits.
